St Grace Nursery School was established in 2019 by Mr Bernard Makoba, who had recently retired from his career as a teacher. Having witnessed first-hand the great need for early childhood education in his community, and encouraged by the Watchmen International team, he set out to make a difference.

The Impact of St. Grace's Arrival
The establishment of St. Grace has been a gamechanger. For the first time, families can offer their young children a strong foundation through affordable early childhood education, paving the way for their success in primary school. What began as a humble initiative has quickly transformed into a beacon of hope, nurturing children's development and assisting parents in ways that reach far beyond the classroom.
Thanks to the funding provided by Watchmen International, St. Grace ensures that every child receives a cup of porridge, promoting their health and enhancing their learning capabilities. Additionally, the teachers are well-trained, and their salaries are supported to maintain a high standard of education.

Among the many stories that shine from St Grace is that of Nabugibi Grace, daughter of Kyokali Sarah, the school’s devoted cook.
Sarah remembers a time when life was uncertain. With no income to support her children, she had resigned herself to waiting until Grace turned eight before enrolling her at Bukyambi Primary School. But everything changed when Watchmen International extended its hand of support.
Sarah found employment at St Grace Nursery School, preparing porridge for the children — a meal funded by donor generosity. At the same time, her daughter Grace was welcomed into the nursery at an affordable rate.

Grace has continued to excel in her primary school, and I know it is because of the foundation she received here.”
